How to Save a Webpage as PDF in Chrome

Saving a webpage as PDF preserves the entire page as a document for offline reading, archiving, or sharing. Chrome's built-in "Print to PDF" reformats the page for paper, breaking layouts, removing backgrounds, and paginating content. The Capture Full Page extension takes a different approach: it captures the page as a visual screenshot (preserving the exact layout you see in the browser) and exports it as a PDF document. Method 1: Capture Full Page, Visual PDF Export

Capture the webpage as a visual screenshot and export as PDF. The PDF preserves the exact visual appearance, no reformatting, no broken layouts. This is ideal for archiving pages that use complex CSS, responsive design, or dynamic content.

Capture Full Page creates a visual PDF: a pixel-perfect screenshot of the page as it appears in your browser, embedded as an image in a PDF document. The visual layout, colors, and design are preserved exactly.
Can I save a full scrolling page as PDF?
Yes. Select "Capture Full Page" to auto-scroll and capture the entire page, then click PDF to export. The complete page, including all content below the fold, is saved as a single PDF document. This works for very long pages up to 100,000 pixels in height.
Will login-required pages work?
Yes. Capture Full Page captures what is currently displayed in your browser tab. If you're logged into a site, the extension captures the authenticated content. Online converters cannot do this because they fetch the URL from their own servers without your session.
Can I annotate the page before saving as PDF?
Yes. After capturing, the screenshot opens in the built-in editor. Add arrows pointing to important sections, text labels for context, highlights to emphasize content, or step numbers for instructions. All annotations are included in the exported PDF.
Is the PDF generated locally?
