Privacy Policy — Capture Full Page
Last Updated: April 09, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the “Capture Full Page” Chrome extension (the “Extension”, “we”, “us”, “our”) and its website (capture-full-page.com) handle information. Both the Extension and the website are designed to work without collecting personal data. We do not run servers that collect, store, or process your data.
Summary (TL;DR)
- The Extension captures screenshots locally in your browser. Images never leave your device unless you choose to save or share them yourself.
- We do not collect analytics, telemetry, personal information, browsing history, cookies, IP addresses, or any data about the pages you visit.
- The website
capture-full-page.comdoes not use analytics, tracking cookies, or third-party telemetry. It does not track visitors. - We do not sell, rent, or transfer any data to third parties.
- The Extension uses
chrome.storage.localto remember your preferences (theme, settings). This data stays in your browser profile. - If the Extension fails to capture a page, you can voluntarily click a “Report error” button to send diagnostic information to us. Nothing is sent automatically. Details below.
Information We Collect
Data collected automatically: none
The Extension does not collect, transmit, or store any personal or identifying information on remote servers. There is no background telemetry, no analytics SDK, no tracking pixels, no cookies set by the Extension, and no network requests to our servers.
The website capture-full-page.com also does not collect analytics, does not use tracking cookies, and does not load any third-party tracking scripts.
Data stored locally on your device
The Extension uses the Chrome storage.local API to remember your preferences so the Extension behaves consistently across sessions. This includes:
- UI theme (light/dark)
- Whether to hide fixed/sticky elements during capture
- Whether the welcome or “What's new” screen has already been shown
- Non-identifying diagnostic details from the most recent capture (page size, viewport size, device pixel ratio, error message if any), used only to pre-fill the optional error report form described below
This data never leaves your browser unless you trigger the error report feature yourself.
Screenshots you capture
Screenshots are generated entirely inside your browser using Chrome's captureVisibleTab API and an OffscreenCanvas. The resulting image is saved to your local Downloads folder via the Chrome downloads API. The Extension does not upload, transmit, or retain copies of your screenshots.
Voluntary error reporting
When a capture fails, the Extension shows a “Report error” button. Only if you click this button, the Extension opens a pre-filled Google Form in a new browser tab. The pre-filled information contains:
- The Extension version
- Technical details of the failed capture: page dimensions, viewport dimensions, device pixel ratio, number of segments, which segment failed, whether zoom was adjusted, whether fixed-element hiding was enabled
- The domain and path of the page where the failure occurred (for example
example.com/some/path) — query strings, hashes, and credentials are stripped - The error message produced by the Extension
- Any text you choose to add in the form before submitting it
The Extension does not submit this form on your behalf. It only opens the Google Form with the above fields pre-filled. You can review, edit, or remove any information before clicking “Submit” inside the Google Form. If you close the tab without submitting, nothing is sent.
If you do submit the form, the data is received through Google Forms and stored in a private Google Sheet accessible only to the developer of the Extension. We use it solely to reproduce and fix the bug you reported. We do not share it with any third party and we do not use it for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than debugging the Extension.
How We Use the Information
The only information we ever receive from you is what you voluntarily submit through the error report form. We use it exclusively to:
- Reproduce and diagnose bugs in the Extension
- Improve the reliability of the capture algorithm
- Reply to you if you included contact details in the form
We do not use this information for marketing, analytics, profiling, advertising, or any automated decision-making.
Permissions We Request and Why
Chrome requires extensions to declare the permissions they use. The Extension requests only what is strictly necessary:
activeTab— to capture the tab you are currently viewing when you click the Extension icon.scripting— to inject the content script that measures the page and controls scrolling during a full-page capture.downloads,downloads.open— to save the captured screenshot to your Downloads folder and optionally open it.storage— to remember your preferences locally (see above).clipboardWrite— to let you copy a captured screenshot to the clipboard.host_permissions: <all_urls>— required so the Extension can capture screenshots on any website you explicitly choose to capture. The Extension only reads page content while a capture is in progress and only for the tab you activated. It does not monitor browsing, read other tabs, or access pages in the background.
Data We Do Not Collect
To be explicit and in compliance with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements, we confirm that the Extension and website do not collect or transmit:
- Personally identifiable information (name, email, phone, address)
- Authentication information (passwords, tokens, cookies)
- Financial or payment information
- Health information
- Personal communications (emails, messages, chats)
- Location data
- Web history or a list of sites you visit
- Information about other installed extensions or applications
- Keystrokes, mouse movements, or form inputs
Third Parties
Neither the Extension nor the website integrates with any third-party analytics, advertising, telemetry, or tracking service.
The only third-party service involved is Google Forms, and only when you voluntarily choose to submit an error report as described above. In that case, Google processes the form submission under Google's own privacy policy.
Children
The Extension is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the Extension or applicable law. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be announced on the Extension's Chrome Web Store listing.
